Piney Creek Community League Events
This is YOUR Community! Do you have an idea for another Event?
Do you have time, talent, and or the desire to start another event or to help at one already scheduled? Please come forward – we need you!!!!
The Piney Creek Community League hosts several community-wide events.
Meet and get to know your Piney Creek neighbors at one of our social events – fun and friendship are the goals!
Everyone is invited to participate in the Parade which begins at Indian Ridge Elementary School on the 4th of July, ending in the Park by the Clubhouse.
Bring your own picnic to enjoy at the park after the parade.
Our Community League Fall Kick-Off
This is your opportunity to be introduced to all the club leaders and join all the clubs in which you wish to participate! You are also welcome to join at any other time – check out the Clubs tab to find the contact information for the leader(s)
Date to be determined
Watch the Chronicle for the date in December
Piney Creek residents LOVE to dress up the exterior of their homes for the Holidays! Each year judges decide on the best “dressed” home in each filing and award them a prize and bragging rights! Come “dress” up your home and check out all your neighbors!
4th of July Parade and Picnic
Decorate your bike, your pet, your car and yourself for the Parade on the 4th of July! We gather together at Indian Ridge Elementary School in the morning on the 4th of July (parade participants are asked to meet at 9:30 am in the parking lot of the school). South Metro Fire Department and The Arapahoe County Sheriff Department usually take the lead as we Parade to the Club House. Spectators are welcome to line the parade route and cheer!
The Picnic
The Picnic is held at the Piney Creek Park immediately following the Parade. A variety of fun-filled activities have been offered in the past, including a live band and face painting. Hot dogs, chips, soft drinks and water may be available at a family-friendly price or there may be food available via food trucks. Or plan to bring your own picnic and a blanket to sit on. Specific details for 2022 will be available as we get closer to the 4th of July – check back here. Although the picnic ends around 1 pm, you can continue to enjoy the Piney Creek Pool, Park, and Tennis and Pickle Ball Courts.
Volunteers
Piney Creek Community League welcomes volunteers from the community to ensure the success of this Community Event. Each year we need 14 Parade Marshalls along the Parade Route, as well as several other volunteers for various jobs at the Picnic. Do you have a talent/skill such as face painting or clowning that would be appropriate and fun to add to our celebration? Let us know!! Please consider offering your assistance to make the day a GREAT success. Please email Kelly to notify her of your interest in volunteering.
PLEASE NOTE: TO ENSURE THE SAFETY OF OUR CHILDREN AND OUR VOLUNTEERS, THE PARKING LOT ADJACENT TO THE CLUBHOUSE IS CLOSED TO TRAFFIC FROM 6:30 AM – 1 PM AND POSSIBLE LONGER. ALL STREETS ALONG THE PARADE ROUTE ARE CLOSED TO TRAFFIC FROM 9:30 AM UNTIL THE CONCLUSION OF THE PARADE.
Holiday Lighting Contest
Light up the Night! All Piney Creek residents are encouraged to participate in the Holiday Lighting Contest – a Winner is selected from each filing (Estates, Hilltop, Lower Knolls, Summit, Meadows, Morningside, Overlook, Piney Creek Village, The Village, Lower Vista, Upper Vista, Glen, Upper Knolls, Ridge, and Terrace). In filings with 150 or more homes, two Winners are chosen. And if there is another home that deserves an Honorable Mention that home will also be declared a Winner! The Winners receive a decorative Holiday Ornament and are listed in the Chronicle, Facebook, Next Door, and have earned bragging rights!
Volunteers
All judges are residents of Piney Creek. Let us know if you and your family would like to participate by judging in one of the filings.
